20/05: Dvorak beta

Programmers assembled Dvorak beta for testing. I have done 35 lessons and lots of editing. Meanwhile I am trying to keep notes of how I am doing with the course so that some points can be reviewed or reconsidered. Re-learning is really hard. My fingers seem to be glued to the keyboard and the brain is reluctant to re-adjust. But it's a matter of adaptation.
Home row is OK with me now. QWERTY keyboard is a good aid to Dvorak typing. When you can't help peeking at the keyboard, you find out it's no use because of the QWERTY stickers. It's real fun. About 20 times is enough to give up even trying to look at the keyboard.
Here are some useful links I found:

Well, there is no CD released but it has a shiny side, too. I received a message from our Italian translator that a new portion of the text will be ready by next Monday. It means that we can put it on the CD without additional testing. It's really great news. The Italian course will now boast of the results in Italian!

I have come to session 70 of the Dvorak course. I found it amusing that the comments to some tasks read: think of some difficult word to type. I tried to follow the recommendation and ... oops! With the Dvorak layout there are no difficult words in the traditional sense (only some strange combinations which are difficult to utter and are not likely to be ever used).
It's another argument that we are doing the right thing in preparing such a course.

We have finally started testing our CD MultiSolo on the Keyboard! I like it.
The covers are out of print and it means that we are approaching the final release date. Officially, it is said to be May 15, 2006.

Our main headache for today is preparing the CD MultiSolo on the Keyboard for final release.
Initially, we set a very simple goal – to start sending our program on a CD. It makes the program more flexible and handy.
It is a very frequent complaint: “I lost your program”
Nothing doing, what’s lost is lost. You have to locate the right link, fill in the online form, download the course, install it, run it, register it and then get back to your studies.
A CD can be a good solution to this problem. Yes, our CD does require registration (should I say activation?) but the setup file is always with you and it can save a great deal of your time. Activation is hardly a problem since it is done manually via e-mail.
